MetzoMed was the first Viscoelastic foam made using Sunflower Oils and without the use of CFC’s, that’s why we call it BIOFOAM. All other viscoelastic foams are made using crude oil derived polymers and most are produced using CFC’s.
Viscoelastic foams are open celled, i.e. they allow air to pass through. MetzoMed allows the highest volume of air to pass through as compared to competition, maintaining a cool microclimate and transporting heat and moisture out of the mattress much faster as compared to conventional memory foams. |
| Older Generation Viscoelastic foams feel soft in high ambient temperatures and hard in cooler temperatures, due to extreme sensitivity to temperature. This creates an inconsistent sleep surface, especially in high ambient temperature conditions, like we have. Metzomed retains similar hardness from 7 degrees to 28 degrees centigrade, typically the indoor temperatures found in India. So you are always assured of consistent feel on your favorite mattress. |

Older Generation Viscoelastic Foams sometimes have very slow recovery, with the impression being visible even after 10 seconds. Good to look at but very troublesome in actual use. Imagine changing position at night and then rolling back into the pit, you just left. We ideally turn around in 3 seconds while sleeping and that’s how Metzomed is designed. Older people require more support from the mattress to turn around. If the mattress recovery matches their turn around time, they continue sleeping uninterrupted. MetzoMed offers the most ideal recovery time, to help keep you asleep. |
| Almost all viscoelastic foams, are not washable. On average each person loses 200 liters of perspiration per year while sleeping and most enters the mattress, imagine how it would reduce the life of the mattress. We live on our mattress, so it has to deal with fluid spillage, incontinence and moisture ingress. MetzoMed is a rare Viscoelastic that’s washable to 60 degrees centigrade and also autoclavable for medical applications. |

Old Generation Viscoelastic foams were very high in Density i.e. typically 80 kg. Metzeler tested and realized that similar durability and support can be achieved by lower density viscoelastics and developed MetzoMed in 50 & 60 kg density. In terms of foams even 50 & 60 kg are very high density, so why make a customer pay more for 80 kg density when durability is more or less the same. That’s why we offer value for money. |
| If that’s not enough, let us tell you that Metzomed naturally inhibits fungus and microbial growth, conforms to DIN75200 fire retardant standards, is Oko-Tex certified and last but not the least, Made in Germany by Metzeler, Germany’s No 1. |
